Encounter
at Churachandpur
Churachandpur,
August 13 : An encounter between underground activists and
Churachandpur police yesterday at 12 noon at Mullum village in
Churachandpur district. The encounter took place when the police
party was ambushed at the area. The police party was providing
reinforcement to the BSF in Dampi area where encounter took
place between BSF and militants.

Sit
in protest at Imphal West
Imphal,
August 13 : Massive sit in protests were held yesterday at
many places of Imphal west district. The protests were arranged
under the banner of the UCM to demand unconditional release of
the jailed AMSU leaders and other protestors arrested in
connection with the anti-ceasefire agitation. Inter-district
buses and passenger vehicles also suspended service yesterday.
Though it was Sunday many educational establishments remained
open to enable the students and staff to participate in the mass
protests.

Bomb
blast at Bishnupur
Bishnupur,
August 13 : A bomb exploded yesterday night at Nachou
Panthak in Bishnupur district. The bomb was believed to be
planted by insurgents. No one was injured in the blast.
