confidence motion against Chairperson of Municipal Council
Mayang
Imphal, August 11 : A no confidence motion was raised
against the chairperson Ningthoujam Nilamani Singh and vice
chairperson Asem Bilasini Devi of Mayang Imphal Municipal
Council by seven councilors. The notice for the motion was
submitted to the executive officer yesterday. It may be
mentioned that the group led by chairperson was reduced to
minority after two councilors withdraw support. A vigilance case
was pending against the chairperson for embezzlement of fund.

Sit
in protest at Bishnupur and Churachandpur
Imphal,
August 11 : Mass sit in protest is being organized today at
Bishnupur and Churachandpur district under the aegis of the
United Committee, Manipur. The protest is a part of the
agitation launched by the UCM demanding unconditional release of
the agitators arrested during anti-ceasefire movement.

Homage
to Patriots
Imphal,
August 11 : Sekmai to Tokpaching Union of Development Agency
will organize a function on August 12 to pay homage to the
martyrs who laid down their lives in the anti-ceasefire
movement. The function will be held at Thongam Mondum, said a
release of the organization.

Sit-in-protest
at Thoubal
Imphal, August 10 : A widespread sit in protest was
staged at the Thoubal district following the call of the United
Committee, Manipur demanding the release of the arrested
students leaders and others. Sit in protest were held at
different locations of the Thoubal district like Thoubal bazaar,
Thoubal Leishangthem, Thoubal Mela Ground, Kakching Bazar,
Khongjom Bazar, Wangjing Bazar, Heirok etc.
