Separate Post Graduate Centre for Naga students
Imphal, August 25 : The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (Tangkhul
Students’ Union) has appealed to the Governor of Manipur to set
up a separate centre for Post-graduate examinations under
Manipur University at one of the Naga dominated hill districts.
The union also urged the Governor to make an arrangement to
allow transfer of displaced Naga students to their convenient
schools and colleges.

NSCN (IM)
imposed Tax on Kuki Villagers
Imphal, August 25 : NSCN (IM) has started collecting
taxes from the Kuki villagers in Thoubal district, Tamenglong
district and Sadar Hills district, said the press release issued
by the Kuki Inpi Manipur. Forcible tax collection would create
misunderstanding between different communities. To prevent such
misunderstanding, the Kuki Inpi, Manipur urged the concerned
authorities not to collect funds from the villagers.

School burnt down
Kakching, August 25 : Unidentified persons burnt down the
Kakching Wairi High School at the night of August 23. The local
villagers rushed to the spot and could save the school from
serious damage. In a special meeting participated by the
governing body, staff and students union condemned the act of
arson.

arrested four NSCN (IM)
Bishnupur,
August 24 :
BSF personnel conducted a combing operation at Ngariyan Khunjao
about 3 kilometres west of Bishnupur police station at 3 am. In
the operation, four suspected NSCN (IM) activists were arrested
by the BSF.
