women demands resignation of Governor
Imphal, August 26 : The Kangleipak Muslim
Chanura Development Organization has demanded the resignation of
the Governor of Manipur because of his indifference to the
plight of the Manipuri people. In a press release, the
organization charged the Governor as thinking only of his
salary. For the last two months, the people have been suffering
from ceasefire problem, economic problem and droughts in the
state. The Governor and his advisors are turning blind eyes to
all these problems, said the release. The Governor should resign
on moral ground, said the release.

List of negligent teachers
demanded
Imphal, August 26 : The Director of Education (S) has
informed the Deputy Commissioners of Ukhrul, Tamenglong,
Senapati and Chandel district to give the list of teachers who
have not attended the classes. Negligent teachers would be given
severe punishment, warned the director.

DCs given
power of independent appointment
Imphal, August 26 : Deputy commissioners of all districts
and additional deputy commissioners of Kangpokpi and Jiribam sub
divisions have been authorized to independent appointment of FPS
rationing agents and SK oil sub dealers. The government has
extended the term of appointment of FPS rationing agents and SK
oil sub dealers from one year to three years. However, in the
interest of the general public, the term has been reduced to one
year till further notification.
