SLIDESHOW

Glimpse of the Tangkhuls

Kaphung tungli dolan sada,
Awon eina sari shaksai,
Kathar masi, khanim ura,
Nawuinaobing kalamahai !

The heights is thy wondrous palace,
Beautiful flowers thy glorious robe,
Fresh air, pure waters; all they grace;
Ever be true, thy children's hope !
Thus sang the Tangkhuls, the colourful tribe who inhabits the north eastern hill ranges of Manipur. Whatever might be the changes brought about by the wheels of time, the Tangkhuls preserve their traditions and culture alive. Our Photographer Kh. Inaomacha captured some of the lives of Tangkhul tribe in the Ukhrul district recently.
